Lucas Barroso Rouwet is a Mexican-Belgian composer and pianist, whose work focuses on creating intimacy between composer, players and audience through short scale pieces that explore diffusion and variation on minimal gestures.

He studied piano and music creation at Provinciale Instituut Kunsthumaniora in Belgium, and the bachelor in composition at Escuela Superior de Música (National Institute for Fine Arts and Literature, INBAL) in Mexico City.

His music has been performed by prominent Mexican soloists and ensembles and selected for the 47th and 48th editions of the Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez (Mexico City, 2025 and 2026), Emerge Coalition with pianist Judith Gordon (Texas, 2026), and by Platypus Ensemble (Vienna, 2027). His music has also appeared in four short films premiered in the Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (2025 and 2026) in Mexico and in the Busan International Short Film Festival (2026) in South Korea.
